5D will be at the 61 Berlin International Film Festival next month, as part of the renowned Berlinale Talent Campus #9:
a creative academy and networking platform for 350 up-and-coming filmmakers from all over the world and one of the most exciting initiatives of the festival.
Play is the forgotten art of human creation, a process that acknowledges the creative chaos inherent in developing the logic of storytelling worlds.
The digital tools of our time form a unique creative laboratory: a toy box of ideas. How do we use these digital tools to create narrative play-spaces in which audience and creator can be immersed in collaborative experience, be it virtual or real, passive or interactive?
Moderator Andrew Shoben and fellow panelists Shekhar Kapur, Alex McDowell, Tali Krakowsky and one other tba will engage Campus participants with insights into the playful process behind building narrative worlds in virtual film space.
Filmmakers Kapur and McDowell, together with fellow panelists Tali Krakowsky (experience designer), and moderator Andrew Shoben (artist), are members of the 5D Conference. The 5D Conference is an association of designers, scientists, artists, entertainment media practitioners and academics that come together to explore current trends in designing for film and new media and are collaborating with Berlinale Talent Campus in this unique event.
This fascinating group of experts gives members a privileged insight into their own creative process through an interactive discussion with the audience, with electronic participation via the 5D App.
